For a few months I carried you under my heart as flesh of my flesh, you became apart.

I felt the stirring of your life within of you precious Alex, and of Drake, your twin.

Then came the day of your grand debut

And I marveled so at the beauty of you!

two precious babies, two little boys

double the pleasure, the work, and the joys.

Identical twins now make no mistake...

which one is Alex; which one is Drake?

We juggled our schedules your Mommy and Dad, Grandma's, Auntie, and sister; oh what fun we had!

We new that life at our house would not be the same...

Your sweet sister Erika soon made you her claim.

She felt you were hers; that Drake could be mine so we got it together and it seemed to work fine.

The days and the nights were hectic at best soon found there was little or no time for rest.

But the bonding between us grew stronger each day through feedings, and changings and cuddling and play.

Then silently one winters night

you precious Alex took an "Angels Flight" When I found you had left us, I gave a start...

Pain, fear, and emptiness gripped at my heart.

Now my arms ache to hold you close to my breast And I struggle to know how to handle the test...

So I turn to my father in heaven above

And pray He'll enfold me in peace and in love.

I am grateful you came to our family

though the time was short, you gave so much to me.

And dear Alex, please know from the start you not only grew under, but into my heart.
