and 3 dreadful weeks in the hospital, I gave birth to my son. He was born 1lb, 5oz and he
lived for a little less than 2 hours. I just celebrated his 3rd birthday on 9/22. Last
oct. i gave birth to my second child and he will be celebrating his 1st bithday in 11
days. I can never get over the loss of my son, my 1st born.... And I probably never will. |

Comments: We lost a baby 19 months ago, the dr. handled everything so badly both my
husband and I were diagnosed PTSD anxiety/depression shortly after. We never could work
through it and a month ago my husband left, one of the last things he said was when I see
her I should tell her her daddy did love her. Thats all he has ever said on the subject.
He said he needed time its been a month and I have not heard a word from him. Now his
grandmother had the phone shut off so he couldn't reach me if he wanted too. I got through
4 suicide atttempts but do not know how much more I can take. They have tried to keep me
pretty well medicated but the last antidepressive they tried was toxic for me And since
she was never born people tell me to forget she was never real. |

affected our lifes. It is still very strong in our minds. We watch the news on health and
they come up with all different causes of SIDS but have never really known what causes it.
What we have decided though is that "The Lord doesn't have to have a reason to take
one of his children home." I am interested in any updates or information on this

Comments: I lost my daughter to SIDS ten months ago. I was looking for some more
information on SIDS. I miss her greatly, and still feel as if I am to blame in some way. I
can not stop thinking about her. I feel like my whole life is built around remembering
her. I was 19 when I got pregenant. I was 20 when I had her. I was prepared for being a
young mother. No one ever prepared me for losing her. She touched my life in a way I will
never forget. I just wish she could have stayed longer. I feel so lost and out of control
with her gone. There are mornings where I do not want to get out of bed. There are nights
when I can not sleep. I do not think Cameron and I have had a normal relationship since.
The day Alaura died I had done a lot of running around. My mother watched her for an hour
in the morning, then later that night my sister watched her so Cameron and I could go out.
Cameron and I were out till about eleven o'clock. We were at a friends house and my sister
droped her off with us. We were two blocks from home. We arrived home about one. Cameron
made her bottle while I changed her. Camerons mom plyed with her and offerd to keep Alaura
in her room for the night.(We declined.)I had started to feed Alaura, but was so tired I
could barely stay awake. Cameron took over from there. Jody went to bed and Cameron and I
stayed downstairs on the couch. The last thing I remember is sitting up watching t.v.
Cameron said he fed her changed her again and then layed down on the couch. I guess I was
still sitting up. Cam says they layed down at 2:15. I then awoke at 5:30 startled because
Alaura had not woken up to eat. I will never forget that morning or what followed. I could
not find my daughter because she had slipped to the side of Cameron. She was sleeping on
his chest. I screamed for Cameron asked him where she was he said right here we picked her
up and she was LIFELESS. I did nothing but scream. Jody came downstairs and I called 911.
That was all I could do. I was so histerical I could not even give my daughter CPR. My
daughter was blue as could be. The paramedics came sent us out of the room and a few hours
later told us our daughter was dead. Alaura had died several minutes after falling asleep.
Cameron and I had slept with her the whole night not knowing she was dead. Cameron feels
worst of all because she was laying on his chest the whole night. I am not sure why I just
wrote all of this for everybody to read, but I did. I think I just want other people to
know they are not alone and we all probably think our situation is worse than the next
persons, but the truth is we are all in the same boat. We may never know why our children
died. I miss you Alaura Dayne Perry. |

of SIDS deaths!!!!! We were looking the the National Alliances thoughts on the matter and
found them. We lost our first born, Kyle Justin Eason, March 27, 1991 when he was 14 weeks
old. We lived in Phoenix, AZ at the time and he was at the babysitter's while we both
worked. This abuse angle has hurt a lot. I feel like people that know Kyle died of SIDS
are thinking that we or the babysitters abused him. We KNOW that is not true! I want the
TV stations, newpapers, etc. that have talked about the abuse study, to publish the real
story. |

Comments: I was reading the information about MA General Hospital, the new book
that's being published, and the research of co-investigator Dr. Truman. I have served with
Dr. Truman on a committee that reviews infant deaths. Despite the publicity and
controversy that seems to surround the study, I know he is sympathetic to the parents of
infants who die of SIDS. It does seem as if the media has referred to SIDS when it means
apnea (based on reading the articles on your web site). I thought that was a good point
made by Dana in the 9/12/97 posting (there is no so thing as near-SIDS). I experienced
severe child abuse, including sexual abuse, and I know how painful the publicity
surrounding "false memory syndrome" was to me. I am sure some people do
"make up" stories of childhood abuse or are influenced to make them up but it
probably doesn't compare to the numbers who actually experience it. It is because of this
history of abuse, however, that makes me aware that parents are capable of homicide, even
in the first few months of life. It is a shame that these people cause suspicion to be
cast on the majority of loving parents who go through the horror of SIDS. I believe Dr.
Truman is sincere and bases his conclusions on valid research but I am sorry for the pain
the book publicity (and the unfortunate title) has caused all the loving parents who are
part of your network. |

Comments: Today is September 18th, we celebrated my son's birthday August 16th, he
would've been two. Daniel Scott passed away on March 27, 1997 to SIDS at 19 months old. My
husband Michael and I, family and friends were devasted. There were no signs or warnings
or was there. Daniel was very healthy, happy and very loved. On that night he woke up at
midnight and played in his crib, he carried on the sweetest conversation with someone in
baby talk pausing during each phrase and his third and final phrase trailing off in almost
a question like tone. I was in the same room with him at my sister's house in KC, MO. we
were in the process of transferring from Topeka, KS. So I was amazed at his playful mood
at midnight and as equally taken back with his baby like conversation. I had never heard
him carry on in this manner and I remember being in awe of it all. I didn't know what he
was saying or who he was saying it to. All I know is that previous Monday the 24th Daniel
in his sweet baby voice looked me and said 'I Love You' at 19 months old I was excited and
I called his daddy immediately to tell him what he had said. Back to that final moment
together, he proceeded to play and he wimpered and cried for me, I contemplated picking
him up and rocking him back to sleep, I decided not pick him up unless he stood up, he
never did. I thought his tired cry was just that a tired sort of cry and that he fell back
to sleep, that was 12:30 a.m. and I found him at 6:30 a.m. lifeless. The coroner said he
had passed shortly after 12:30. Sometimes, it's hard not to blame myself for not doing
something like picking him up I tell myself, that his conversation that night trailed off
in a question about why he had to leave so soon, about missing his mommy and asking if I
would be ok and that his cries that night were for me to tell me that he would miss me
too. I know where Daniel is and each day that goes by I'm that much closer to being with
him again. My love to you forever Daniel - Love, mommy. P.S. for anyone who would like to
talk please e-mail me at crystalglobe@msn.com If anyone who has lost a child because of
SIDS listen to a 'A Baby's Prayer' from Kathy Troccoli the word's bring such comfort. God
Bless. |

are no support groups within a 100 mile radius. We try to do what we can for the Ne.
foundation but that's only about 2 or 3 times a year at a gathering. I have done many
projects on my own but have to go it alone. I'm looking for someone to chat with and share
my feelings with. If you have the time, would you drop a line to elyl@rocketmail.com God

paper. I found your web site and thought I would say "hi". I was founder and
president of the Kansas SIDS Chapter for a couple of years after our baby's death. We were
successful in getting the laws passed in Kansas so that all unexplained deaths of infants
through the age of one year would be autopsied. We provided statewide information to all
funeral directors and gave many, many personal accounts of our story to anyone and
everyone who would listen. I commend you on your efforts and wish you the best of luck in
your endeavors. |

Comments: I have signed this guestbook before, but I check it regularly. I want all
the families who have lost children to know you are in my thoughts and prayers. I have a
three month old son who I do not take for granted. This web site has helped me to realize
I am not in control and we are all vulnerable. I treasure all my son's moments, especially
his smiles. You have all helped me realize that this beautiful child may only be a
temporary gift, and I should treasure every moment with him. I wish you all peace.
Sincerely, Heather |

Comments: Found this page while looking for resources to help after a first
trimester pregnancy loss. There are some great things here. What I see missing is some
sort of defined support group, preferably on-line in some way. My loss was less than a
month ago, so I have some good days, and some really terrible ones. Always looking for
someone to talk to WHEN things aren't good. It doesn't help to wait til 'next Tuesday at
6'. |

This is My Little Guy ! Jordan Dustin Montroy, "JD". He was born 6/7/97. He was
so Happy all the time always smiling and gigling. Went fishing with me and everything. Was
never fussy or anything. You could be mad at everything and he would look at you and smile
and get you over being, mad. He's was just always Happy !The center of attention in our
home. We went to bed last night and this morning when we got up. Our little JD wouldn't
wake Up. We raced to the hospital a couple block away and there was Nothing they could do.
Just say they were sorry ,and this happens. He lived to be 3 months and 4 days . Before he
was taken away from us. So please say a prayer for "JD". I wish he could of met
you and shared a smile cause he was always Happy and he loved everyone. Thanks , James,
Sherry , Chelsey and Tristan "JD," Passed away on the 11th and was Buried on the
13th. He will forever Live in our Hearts and this photo is from the day he came home June
8th,1997. |

a child. This page is very helpful to me, it gives me information on how to prevent such a
situation from happening. I know it is hard for some parents to cope but the babies are
with Jesus now and are in no pain and are happy. |

2 month old son to SIDS. He is my second child. My first child is 3. I am just searching
the internet to try and find some sort of comfort. I'm trying to find people who have
experience the same loss as I have. Its been two weeks and the pain has not gotten any
better. I've asked the Lord to come back into our family and have been reading the Bible.
I find it hard to get motivated and get out of the house. My heart has been ripped away. |

Comments: My son, Aaron Farrier, just passed away on Friday, September 7, 1997
while at the sitters. The Medical Examiner determined that the cause of death was
aspiration due to gastric content. After speaking with his pediatrician and reading about
SIDS, I am convinced that my baby died of SIDS not aspiration (although this may have
happened in combination with SIDS). I have read that SIDS is not caused by aspiration even
though death certificates often bear this term in error. We have yet to speak with the
doctor that performed the autopsy or the detective. It has been one week since Aaron died
and is very distressing for us to not have any of our questions answered. |

Mychal was born on August 26, 1996 and was 8 months old when we lost her. My heart to this
day just aches for her. This has been the hardest thing that I have ever had to deal with.
I hurt for my friend and I miss Mychal so much. She brought so much happiness to everyone
around. I just pray that my friend and her parents can get through t | |
