Comments: Our daugher Sarah Michelle was born on Oct 12,
1995. She was Twin A at 37 weeks. Her twin's name is Melissa. She was our 3rd child and
healthy at 6lbs 1 oz. On Dec 6, 1995, I found her dead in her crib. After a thorough
investigation her death was classified as SIDS. Her twin sister was immediately placed on
a monitor, but no alarms occurred. We have subsequently had another baby, Kelly Anne on

started a support group in Kinston. We have had alot of help from Sherie Bradshaw with the
SIDS Alliance of North Carolina in getting this started. We meet on the third Thursday of

acute today as it was the day I had to accept that my little darling was no longer here
with me. Maybe its because Christmas is almost here that I feel especially blue. I have a
four month old daughter and I feel so blessed to have her; but, sometimes I look at her,
and she looks so much like her brother, that it hurts, hurts, hurts! I have so few
memories to hold on to because my angel boy was only with me for 2 1/2 months, but the
ones I have I cherish. I now collect angels in memory of my little angel, and all the
little angels that he now plays with in heaven. I am in no mood to Christmas shop because
I keep looking at things that would be appropriate for a 1 1/2 year old boy. I'm trying to
muster up something in the way of spirit to give to the rest of the family, but it's so
hard. I just want to stay in bed with the cover pulled over my head. But, I won't. I'll
remember my son and I'll talk to my son, and I'll picture his little round smiling face,
and I'll find a way to go on. That's all any of us can do -- find a way to keep going. All
of our little angels are resting in peace because they know how much we loved them and
will love them forever. |

years ago. christms time is always hard but it seems to get harder as our other two
children grow and he is not there. every day is a challenge not just of dealing with his
loss, but with the every day things of being a mother of two young children. I am at a
loss on how to explain to my children as they grow about what happened. right now they are

and experiences help me a great deal as I work through this first of loss of my infant
daughter Jessica. She died March 5, 1997 while taking a morning nap at the babysitter.
Each day is a struggle for my husband and I. The holidays are really hard as many of you

old when he died on November 16, 1997 from SIDS. He was our Miracle Baby after six years
of infertility treatments and an unsuccessful IVF. He was a great human being, even though
his life on Earth was short. We miss him dearly! |

Comments: For Aubrey Elaine born on August 22,1997 in
heaven on October 14,1997 My beautiful child named Aubrey Elaine died from sids. When I
was 4 months pregnant I began to bleed very badly. When I went to the hospital the doctor
believed that I had already lost my baby. He ordered a sonogram and the baby was fine. The
bleeding was a subchorionic bleed. I was ordered to bed rest. Then on Aug. 22 I went into
labor 7 weeks early. They tried to stop it but it did not work. Aubrey came that
afternoon. She was doing well and all we were waiting on was her to eat form a bottle and
put on weight. Four days latter she developed an infection and was transfored to another
hospital. I remember thinking that nothing could be worse than to see 4 people carting
your child off in an ambulance. When she was 3 weeks and 3 days old she was able to come
home. That was one of the happiest days of my life. I thought that all of our problems
were over. On Tues. Oct. 14 we awoke to our chlid's lifeless body. I began cpr and called
911. The ambulance came and they worked on her for about 15 minutes in front of our house
as we delt with our neighbors asking us what was going on. Then for the second and last
time Aubrey was taken off by ambulane with 5 people working on her to the hospital. We
followed in our car. When we got there we were put in a room to sit and wait. I will never
forget that doctor coming in and telling that there was absolutly nothing the paramedics
could of done. Aubrey was going to be the baby of the family with an older brother and
sister. She was my little angel on earth now she is my little angel in heaven. The only
comfort I get is that she is with my mother,my 2 brothers, and a sibling that I miscarried
a couple of years before. I will always love and miss her dearly but one day I will be
with her again. |
