"Aunt Robin's Gift"

There has never been a more truer love than that of a parent for a child,
And God gave to you that gift of love if only for a while.

Although he was not born unto you, he spent nine months in your life,
He brought you joy and hope, and filled your hearts with light.

He knew you by your voice, your feel, your ever gentle touch,
And felt your love and warmth, and he loved you very much.

But he knew his time to be with you would not be very long,
For God had whispered in his ear a gentle, loving song.

He had a special purpose in the heavens far away,
And though he loved you very much, he knew he could not stay.

God came to him and swept him up with just a simple kiss,
And took him on his journey, knowing he'd be missed.

God told him not to worry, that you all would be okay,
That now you knew he would be safe, never lonely or afraid.

He said that you would find comfort when you looked up in the sky,
And saw the twinkle of the stars and felt his love alive.

Now when you think of him in this glorious, wondrous place,
You know that he will have a smile on his sweet, angelic face.
